In the Verdugo Mountains region of Los Angeles County, Glendale is a city that is home to a population of 204,765–making it the fourth-largest city in the county and the 23rd-largest city in the state. Glendale is located about 10 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

Glendale is bordered by neighborhoods such as San Valley, Tujunga, Burbank, Griffith Park, Eagle Rock, Pasadena and Glassell Park. Major thoroughfares such as The Golden State, Ventura, Glendale and Foothill freeways run directly through the city.
